WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT OUR BAR NECKLACES?
Our bar necklaces are extra luxurious. Each Mint & Birch bar necklace is cut by hand in our studio out of large sheets of high quality, 14k gold fill or sterling silver from reputable mills in North America. We do not use bar blanks. We cut each one ourselves because we want to use sturdy and thick metal for your bar necklaces!
What IS gold fill? Gold fill is jewelry is composed of a layer of real 14 karat gold bonded and rolled permanently onto a core. It will not tarnish or flake off like gold plated bars. Most importantly, gold fill jewelry must contain a certain percentage of gold in order to be able to be legally called gold fill. This percentage is based on the weight of the piece. Here at Mint & Birch, we use extra thicker and heavier bars for your necklaces so that the percentage of gold that you are getting per necklace is higher. This ensures a luxurious, long lasting piece that you can treasure for years to come.
We use thicker than average sheets of gold fill and sterling so that the total weight of gold is higher! Gold filled is not the same as gold plated, and has 100% times more gold than gold plated. Each one is stamped using hand tools, and polished in our studio using professional materials. Mint & Birch also works hard to create unique designs to hand stamp your necklaces with. In fact, some of our designs are even created specifically for us and cannot be found elsewhere!
